School Philosophy
Upstage NY Dance Academy is committed to providing a positive atmosphere for learning the beautiful, challenging art of dance. The studio teaches dance as a total art form, developing technical skills in addition to musicality and artistry. Whether students are considering a career in dance or have a more recreational approach, they are encouraged to develop self-confidence, form lasting friendships, and cultivate an appreciation for the arts. Upstage NY Dance Academy is committed to providing energetic, fun and high caliber training to dancers of all ages, abilities and interests.
We offer a variety of styles of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary and parent-tot. We offer classes for students ages 2 and older, and welcome dancers from beginner to advanced levels. Class sizes are limited in order to provide personal attention to every student, and help them reach their highest potential. As performing experience is a crucial part of any dancers growth, we have an annual recital in June, with every child having their opportunity to shine.
Upstage NY Dance Academy provides a safe environment where your child can feel comfortable and supported so that he or she may grow as both a dancer and a person. We use both positive reinforcement and constructive criticism to help our students improve and gain self-confidence.
We work as a dance family, supporting each other and encourage relationship building, sportsmanship, and friendship.
